Billie Clayton Mangum, 78, of Wake Forest, died Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Perry Nichols Clayton and Alma Estelle Slaughter Clayton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Donald Clayton, Jerry Clayton, Perry Wayne Clayton and Barbara "Bobbie" Suitt. Mrs. Mangum was the owner and operator of The Finishing Touch. She enjoyed sewing, decorating, reading and gardening. Mrs. Mangum loved spending time with her family and friends.

She also enjoyed traveling having visited numerous countries.

Surviving are her loving Jim Mangum and her children and their spouses: Sheree Anderson Oakley (Stanley) of Greensboro, Sharon Tatum (William) of Leasburg, Suzanne Anderson Blackwell (James) of Yanceyville and James "Jay" Anderson, Jr. (Kristen) of Largo, FL; ten grandchildren: Lauren Harless (Alan), Nicole Wood, Julie Freese (Chris), Brooke McPherson (Ryan), Ryan Guerin, Joseph Oakley (Briana), Alayna King (Randy), Olivia Pattishall (Jeremy), Clayton Blackwell (Brittany) and Anna Blackwell; eleven great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the love and care provided over the years by her caregivers: Olivia Pattishall, Jamesha Scott, Susan Penny and Donna Bland.
