Feeding the Carolinas Announces Sentinel Risk Advisors Virtual Food Drive

April campaign to benefit all member Food Banks including Second Harvest Food Bank

Feeding the Carolinas announced a Virtual Food Drive hosted by Sentinel Risk Advisors LLC to support a network of local food banks across the company’s North Carolina and South Carolina footprint that provide vital hunger relief for individuals and families affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused devastating effects in the Carolinas and continues to put our local communities at risk,” stated Sentinel Risk Advisors Managing Partner Jim Holmes. “As an organization, we are compelled to take the lead in this initiative and invite our network of clients and business partners to join us as we aim to raise $1 million to support those impacted by food insecurity.”

Donations will be accepted online by visiting sentinelra.com, beginning April 1. All proceeds generated during the month-long campaign will directly benefit member Food Banks.

“We are thankful for the leadership of Sentinel Risk Advisors in hosting this online fundraising event,” said Feeding the Carolinas Executive Director Mike Darrow. “They recognize how critical it is to supply nutritious food to families and seniors during this unprecedented time, and the need for funds to do so. Our member Food Banks are on the frontline addressing hunger for our friends and neighbors in need.”

“Every community has been impacted by the fallout of this public health and economic crisis,” said Eric A. Aft, Chief Executive Officer for Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. “In the 18 Northwestern North Carolina counties served by our Food Bank network, the need for food assistance among families remains significant. We expect recovery will be a long and challenging road for many area families, and we will continue to turn to our community and partners, including Sentinel Risk Advisors, to ensure we can respond to our neighbors in need.”

The virtual food drive campaign is an extension of Sentinel Risk Advisors ongoing support and involvement in the local communities where the company operates. Each year, the risk management and insurance brokerage firm provides its employees 40 paid hours to volunteer in their community, which included service at local food banks in 2020.

As the impact of COVID-19 continues in our communities, resulting in a need to purchase additional food and/or provide food to more people due to disruptions in their work and income, you can help make sure Feeding the Carolinas can help.
