On Sunday, Nov. 15,, Caswell County Schools was notified that an employee working at Oakwood Elementary School had tested positive for COVID-19. In order to protect employee confidentiality, no other information about the individual will be shared. The following actions have been taken:

Contact tracing has been completed to identify close contacts of the individual. Those individuals have been notified and are quarantined for 14 days. Close contact is defined as within six feet for more than 15 minutes, cumulatively.

The area of the building affected by this situation has been closed for cleaning.

Employees who are not considered to have had close contact with the individual are not quarantined as the risk to them is believed to be minimal.

As always, if any staff members develop symptoms, the Caswell County Health Department is testing Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 to 6:00, the Pelham Community Center is testing Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00 and Caswell Family Medical Center is testing curbside, by appointment only.
