Last Wednesday, June 9, the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office served four (4) Felony Warrants for Arrest on Milton resident Jeremiah Randall Whitt, 40. He was arrested and charged for the commission of two (2) counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense and two (2) counts of Disturbing Human Remains. He was placed in the Caswell County Detention Center under a $100,000 Secured BondThe Sheriff’s Office reports that he made bond on Friday, June 11. His first appearance in Caswell District Court is scheduled for Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 8:45 a.m.
The office had been on the lookout for several days prior to the arrest.
The community was shocked recently when two corpses were found on property belonging to Whitt’s family in Semora. It was reported that a faint odor coming from the property instigated a call to the police.
Sheriff Tony Durden would like to thank the North Carolina Department of Insurance, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations of Winston-Salem, North Carolina Board of Funeral Services, and Durham County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation and apprehension of Whitt.
