4-H kids know a lot about eggs!

This year five young ladies in the Caswell County 4-H program participated in a brand new 4-H competition. The “4-H Egg-cellent Egg Contest” was offered to all 4-Hers in North Carolina and our ladies took the challenge.

Together we learned a LOT about eggs, I mean more than most adults know!

Each youth submitted a dozen eggs to the contest for judging.  However, each age group also had supplemental activities that ranged from making chalk from egg shells to making videos on how to safely handle eggs.

Participants were Madilynn Carter, Annabelle Carter, Abigail Harris, Madelyn Boaz, and Makayla Massimo.  For the category of Intermediate Large, XL, & Jumbo Brown Eggs, 3rd place winner was Abigail Harris and 1st place winner Maddy Boaz.

Senior Large, XL, & Jumbo Brown Eggs 1st place winner was Makayla Massimo. “We are so very proud of each and every one of our 4-Her’s who participated.  Special “Thank You” to Bailee Perkins and Bryan Harris for all their help,” says Brandi Boaz, Associate Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development.
