Undergraduate Research Scholarships offered for research on aerospace & NASA

The Undergraduate Research Scholarship is designed to support students who are pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields that support NASA’s Mission Directorates. This competitive program is for undergraduate students who wish to participate in research related to aerospace and other NASA related programs. Award recipients will develop relationships with mentors, peers, faculty and the NASA community.

Scholarship recipients will conduct research over a 12-month period, starting on June 1, 2021 and ending on May 30, 2022. The research should be supervised by a faculty mentor, and may be conducted virtually, on the home campus in accordance with university policies, and/or at an industrial or government facility.

Applicants must be pursuing bachelor’s degrees in an area of STEM of interest to NASA and the aerospace industry and in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Scholars will be expected to present their research at the 2022 NC Space Grant Symposium, which will be held online or in person.
