One of America's most iconic motorcycle brands has rolled into the Dan River Region. “Hands-On Harley-Davidson™” recently opened at the Danville Science Center. The interactive touring exhibition lets young children explore the engineering, history and mechanics of the popular bikes.
Guests can step inside a kid-sized true-to-life Harley-Davidson dealership and customize a Road King®-inspired motorcycle, dress up like a biker and take a simulated ride featuring realistic sounds and special effects.
Stations throughout the exhibition highlight the importance of bike maintenance, engine systems and protective gear. Engaging, family friendly activities create fun learning experiences at every turn!
Designed for guests ages 3-12, this one-of-a-kind experience introduces children to real-life motorcycles through hands-on activities that teach basic physics and design principles.
Guests of all ages are familiar with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and will enjoy playing, exploring and discovering how the iconic vehicles are connected to science. It’s the perfect reminder that STEM is all around us.
“Hands-On Harley-Davidson™” is open during regular operating hours (9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday) until May 14.
“Hands-On Harley-Davidson™” is included with Danville Science Center admission. Members, active military and children three and under are admitted free. The Science Center offers discounts for military and EBT cardholders.
