The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region is now accepting applications for 59 different scholarship funds. Area students who are interested may apply online through The Foundation’s website at www.cfdrr.org. The deadline for all applications is March 1, 2022.

Students who are graduating seniors or former graduates from a high school in Danville or Pittsylvania County, Virginia or Caswell County, North Carolina may apply. Scholarships may have eligibility criteria that were specified by the donor.

The online application is a two-part process. Applicants will complete the general application, providing demographic information. Once the general application is submitted, applicants will have the opportunity to apply to each scholarship for which they qualify. The online application system will also determine eligibility for specific scholarships based off the information provided in the general application. There are also scholarships available through guidance counselor recommendation.

Last year, The Foundation awarded 129 scholarships totaling more than $282,000 to area students. Since its formation in 1996, The Community Foundation has awarded 1,486 scholarships totaling more than $3,000,000.
