Currently we are monitoring a weather system that will impact the Carolinas service area tomorrow (Wednesday). A strong front will enter western portions of the service area before daybreak on Wednesday and will exit off the coast in the late evening hours Wednesday night. Impacts are expected to be minimal in the West with heavy rain at times and the possibility for gusty winds. As the system moves east, especially along and to the east of I-77, the threat for severe weather escalates through the afternoon and evening hours. The threat of severe weather will diminish quickly behind the line of storms, but non-storm related wind gusts will persist into the overnight hours.

With the potential for heavy rainfall and strong winds forecasted for tomorrow, Duke Energy is preparing and ready to respond if power interruptions occur.

Line and service technicians and other personnel are available in the event of damage. We have the equipment and supplies we need to make repairs and restore service if any outages occur.

After a storm hits, restoring power as safely and quickly as possible is our top priority while keeping our customers informed.

You can find up-to-date information on power outages, including estimated times of restoration here: http://duke-energy.com/outagemap.
