Richmond Miles Museum at Christmas

Can you believe it’s Christmas time already? Many have been saying this past year has flown by. Now it’s time for some fun for Caswell County.

Caswell County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amanda Hodges reflects on this special time of year: “One of the most heart-warming things I hear about in the county is how special the previous Christmas tree lighting events have been. Having our business community, nonprofits and other organizations work together to make this event happen makes it even more special. She adds, “My favorite thing about Christmas is the cheerful and upbeat outlook most people have during the season that is contagious and just gets stronger with the gatherings, decorations, gifts and wonderful holiday treats. And of course the real reason for the season, to acknowledge the birth of Jesus Christ…that makes this all so special.”

The opportunity to showcase local vendors and artists at the Christmas Tree Lighting event will provide local entrepreneurs the chance to offer their items to the festival goers. With nearly 30 vendors planning to attend with unique gift ideas, the evening promises to welcome the holidays to our town.

The Caswell Arts Council, Caswell County Historical Association, Chamber of Commerce, the County, the Lights Committee, and Town of Yanceyville are working together to make this Christmas special. Volunteers are welcome to help decorate and join in the fun. To volunteer, call 336-694-3159.

To honor those lost and to create unity in our community, please consider adding a ribbon with the name of someone dear you'd like to honor. This special tree will be located in the Yanceyville Town Pavilion area and ribbons will be available for citizens to write names onto before placing it on the tree.

Ribbons will also be available around town at North Village Pharmacy, the Old Courthouse, CoSquare, the Town of Yanceyville and other select locations after the lighting festivities. You may pick one up and include your message and add to the tree at a later time if you prefer.

*Christmas Parade

This year the Chamber of Commerce parade theme is “Parade of Trees.”

Include a Christmas Tree of some type in your entry to be included in a drawing for prizes! Entry forms found at are due by Monday, November 29.
