In football, the Bucs had a total of six players named first-team All-Conference, including running back Jacob Scales, wide receiver Malachi Gwynn, lineman Miles Oliver, lineman Miles Jefferson, linebacker Keith Mims, and multi-purpose athlete Malik Brogdon. Six other BYHS players - Craig Graves, Tyler Jefferson, Chase Johnson, Ahmad Byrd, Justin Mitil, and Dylan Wall - were named Honorable Mention All-Conference by the league.
In volleyball, the Bucs had two standouts - sisters Ashton and Lanie Ouzts - named to the first-team All-Mid-State squad. Three others - Elizabeth Proctor, Keelie Chattin, and Emma Jones - were named Honorable Mention.
In women’s tennis, Norah Massey and Kaleb Stephens were both named first-team All League, while Sarah Kate Watlington was named Honorable Mention. In addition, the BYHS girl’s tennis squad was named co-winner of the team Sportsmanship Award alongside conference rival Cummings.
In boy’s soccer, James Simon was named first-team All-Mid-State Conference for the Bucs, while also being named Goalkeeper of the Year. The Bucs were also recognized by the Mid-State Conference by receiving the league’s Sportsmanship Award.
