Maggie Poteat

Maggie Poteat was born Maggie Louise Farmer to the late Carl and Maggie Farmer. Maggie was the third of fourteen children and was preceded in death by four siblings; Joan Lilly, Alice Barnett, Earl Farmer Jr. and Betty Jean Farmer. She was a member of the Semora Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blanch, North Carolina. 

She is survived by her husband: Wayne Poteat, eight sisters: Mary Vann (Devon) of Ft. Washington, MD; Gerdean, Hope and Dynetta Farmer of Milton, NC; Suezatte Bailey (Reginald) of Danville, Va; and Veronica Wilkerson (Marcus) of Roxboro, NC. Three brothers: John Farmer (Yuvette) of Roxboro, NC,  David Farmer (Edith) and William Leon Farmer (Renee) of Milton, NC. along with many nieces, nephews and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm in the John Mims Chapel of Blackwell Funeral Home of Yanceyville on Thursday, July 23rd, 2020 .

Graveside service will be held on July 19, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery in Danville, VA.
