Thurman Lee “Baby” King, 89, of Yanceyville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 after a period of declining health.
Thurman was born December 16, 1929 in Caswell County to the late Albert Ingram King and Sallie Aldridge King. He was a retired farmer and attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. Thurman was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Thurman was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Lola Ruth Crumpton King; son, Ronald Lee King, Sr.; and brothers, Hansford King and Richard Willard King.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie K. Cooper and husband Keith of Roxboro, NC; grandson, Ronald Lee King, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; step-granddaughter, Liz Davidson and husband Mark of Kernersville, NC; step-great granddaughter, Emily Winberg of Wilmington, NC; In-laws, Rebecca and Bill Comer of Reidsville, NC, James and Sylvia Crumpton of Burlington, NC and Myrtle Dyer of Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder David Underwood officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to Thurman during the final weeks of his life.
