Milton, N.C.- It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Flossie Ardenia Stewart Graves of 232 Hamlett Rd., Milton, N.C., who passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at her residence.
Flossie was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, who was born to both the late Johnnie and Fannie Philips Stewart on June 25, 1924.
Flossie was truly devoted to her family, friends and church family. She was united in holy matrimony to the late William A. Graves; and to their union six children were born, where she was a homemaker for her family. Flossie joined Macedonia AME Church where she served as a steward and a faithful member of the senior missionary board, the angelic and senior choir, the fellowship and/or the culinary committee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Flossie was preceded in death by her one daughter, Faye Marie Graves; one son, Nathaniel Graves; one sister, Mabel Stewart; five brothers, Paul Phillips, Raymond Stewart, George Stewart, John Willis Stewart, and Charles Stewart.
Mrs. Flossie Ardenia Stewart Graves survivors are to her two sons, William R. Graves of the home and Stanley Eugene Graves of Milton, North Carolina; two daughters, Linda J. Wilson (Buck) of Milton, North Carolina, and Mary A. Graves of Danville, Virginia; six grandchildren, Cory, Denita, Tyler, Jamal, Jacob, Joshua, and Zendiaya; three great grandchildren, Shelisha Jones, Destiny Graves, and Tylaisha Elmore; one great-great grand-daughter Ardena; four sisters, Inez Medley of Alton, Va., Mildred L. Goods of Milton, N.C., Nannie Johnson of Leasburg, N.C. and M. Josphine Chambers of Milton, N.C.
A viewing was Friday, January 3, 2020 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Flossie Ardenia Stewart Graves was Saturday, January 4, 2020, 1 p.m. at Macedonia A.M.E. Church.
Interment was in the Church Cemetery.
