It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Phyllis Ann Long of Eden (formerly of Pelham, NC), who departed her earthly life, and passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, for her heavenly home on March 11, 2020.
Phyllis was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member. She was also a machine operator at Fieldcrest Mills in Eden, NC, prior to her illness.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis the baby and last of her siblings was preceded in death by her three sisters, Christine Doe, Cynthia McGlon, and Jean “Hazel” Watkins; two brothers, Banks “Johnny” Long and James “Timothy” Long; and one niece, Crystal Parsons.
Phyllis Ann Long leaves to cherish her memory to her loving family; seven nieces, Laverne Randolph, Angela Long, Celissa McGlon, Bernadette Watkins, Lawanna Bishop Chavis, Petrina Watkins, and Tameka Long; six nephews, Kenneth Doe, Kerwin Doe, Wendell C. McGlon Jr., Tavares Long, Lionel Long, and Tyshawn Long; special cousins, Mary Long and Catherine Moore; a brother in law Cleophis Doe; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A viewing was held Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Ms. Phyllis Ann Long was Sunday, March 15, 2020, 2 p.m., at New Zion Baptist Church. Pastor Clifton Madden delivered the Words of Comfort. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
