Drake Michael Myers of Danville Va. died at home with Hospice after several years of declining health on February 26, 2020 at the age of 69. He was born February 6, 1951 to the late Betsy Ann Covington Myers Flick and the late Tivis (Ted) Michael Myers in Martinsville Va.

Drake graduated from GWHS and attended college in Bluefield.

Drake was owner and operator of Waterloo Music and music guru who loved sharing his knowledge and facility to so many in Danville and surrounding area for 21 years. He loved his staff like family and treasured their love. He also worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber for a number of years.

He is survived by his “son” Brittany Reece, his aunts Betty Ross Myers and Benton Kay Covington Thompson and special cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Tivis and Lorine Beck Myers, Mary Woodard Covington, Benton Rockwell Covington and step-grandmother Elizabeth, uncle Bruce Myers, and aunts Mary W. Covington and Linda Covington Vernon. He was also predeceased by his girlfriend of over 30 years, Barbara F. Rawlins.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2 PM with Justin Stowe providing the eulogy with a visitation prior to the service.

The large number of former employees of Waterloo and their outpouring of love spoken and demonstrated in addition to other dear friends was such a blessing and deeply appreciated at the memorial service by the family.
