Yesterday at around 2:16 p.m., Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies received a call of a breaking and entering in progress occurring at 294 Garrett Rd. Eden, N.C.
Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies Lincoln Thompson and David Watson responded to the call and arrived at the home quickly after being dispatched.
The homeowner, Linda Ramsey, was at a neighbor's home and allowed Deputies Thompson and Watson inside her home to look for the intruder. Ramsey told Deputies the intruder was Ronald Keith Joyce, with whom she had a previous domestic relationship.
She told Deputies that Joyce had forcefully entered the residence through a window. Ramsey then fled the home to a neighbor's house for safety.
Deputies Thompson and Watson searched the home and found Ronald Keith Joyce hiding under a bed.
Joyce was arrested and brought before the Wentworth Magistrate on two (2) charges of misdemeanor breaking and entering and one (1) charge of Communicating Threats. He was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $2,500 secured bond.
