Yanceyville Mayor Alvin Foster will once again be Yanceyville’s mayor after winning 69 percent of the vote during Tuesday night’s election.
Foster, who has served as the town’s mayor since 2017, earned 142 votes compared to challenger Albert Tardy who collected 63 votes. In all, 100 percent of the town’s residents turned out and voted in Tuesday’s election.
In addition, Odessa Gwynn won her race for Yanceyville’s town council in a close race. Gwynn collected 136 votes or 50.18 percent, while her challenger, Margie Badgett-Lampkin collected 129 votes.
Caswell voters also elected Patricia Williams as the Town of Milton’s mayor. She earned 21 of the 23 votes cast. Valerie Sottile, Cathia B. Stewart and John Wallace finished in a tie, with each garnering 15 of the 63 votes cast.
