A 19-year-old Providence man is behind bars after a peculiar string of events Thursday morning.
The man, identified as Jacob Andrew Johnson, 19, of Providence, allegedly drove off a roadway and crashed his vehicle through a gate and shrubbery, ultimately getting stuck on an embankment. Shortly thereafter, he allegedly broke into the Yanceyville McDonald’s.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a Breaking and Entering in progress at McDonald’s Thursday morning, June 20. Deputies arrived on the scene and entered the business in an attempt to locate the suspect.
No one was found in the building but deputies were alerted by a concerned citizen that a man identified as Johnson was lying unconscious on the ground in the Food Lion parking lot.
Caswell EMS quickly arrived on scene and transported Johnson to the Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants charging Johnson with felony Breaking and Entering into a business and two misdemeanor trespass of real property and destruction/damage/vandalism of property.
