Installed on the paved area before the Yanceyville Pavilion days before Christmas, an artificial ice skating rink is up and operational in Caswell County.
The ice-like surface is actually slabs of thick plastic closer to a cutting board material that fits together like a seamless puzzle.
Surrounding the slick and shiny white surface is a double-layer of hay cubes.
The attraction is a joint effort between Caswell County and the Town of Yanceyville.
Weekdays are free and prices are nominal Friday nights and weekends.
The ‘ice’ rink is expected to remain operational throughout January.
