The North Carolina Highway Patrol and first responders diligently worked the scene of a crash involving a school bus in the 1700 block of Highway 86 in Yanceyville near the Rio Grande Mexican restaurant yesterday morning around 7:30 a.m.
According to N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Baker, a red Chevy coupe, driven by Brenda Berkley, made a left-hand turn into the southbound lane of Highway 86 when she struck the school bus.
Baker reported only three children were on the bus at the time and that none of them were injured. However, Berkley did sustain minor injuries.
No charges have been filed in the wreck as the investigation is still ongoing.
