Burlington and Mebane ReStores to reopen!
Habitat Alamance announces that both ReStores are reopening with different hours and safety policies in place for both shopping and donating due to COVID-19.
The Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. ReStore proceeds are the primary source of funds for construction of new Habitat homes in our community. Their closure meant a shortfall of $40,000 monthly for Habitat Alamance.
Burlington ReStore reopens Mon, May 18. It is located at 1176 N. Church Street in Burlington. Hours are Mon-Sat from 10am-4pm. Closed Sunday. 336-222-8292
Mebane ReStore reopens Tue, May 19. It is located at 1288 South Fifth Street in Mebane. Hours are Tue-Sat from 10am-4pm. Closed Sunday. Please note that the Mebane Store is closed on Mondays. 919-568-9385
Social distancing will be observed, and staff will be wearing face masks and gloves. Staff will also have their temperature checked each day at the beginning of their shift.
For our customers we will provide a hand sanitizing station but will not require them to wear masks.
We are again taking donation pick up requests and donors will be asked if anyone in their residence has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been visibly ill. In addition, all items for pick-up MUST be placed outside. NO EXCEPTIONS! Our donation staff will not be going into homes at this time.
Donations that are dropped off at either store will sit outside (weather permitting) for 30 minutes; then be sanitized and placed in our storage space for one week. It will then be sanitized again before going on the sales floor when space becomes available.
