Good Neighbor Pharmacy, a national independent pharmacy network and a part of AmerisourceBergen, announced that Yanceyville’s North Village Pharmacy is a finalist for its 2018 Good Neighbor Pharmacy of the Year Award.

The annual award, which will be presented on July 20 at Good Neighbor Pharmacy’s 2018 ThoughtSport conference and tradeshow in Orlando, Florida, recognizes a pharmacy that epitomizes what it means to be a Good Neighbor Pharmacy. The tradeshow kicks off on Wednesday, July 18.

“Our finalists now only provide exceptional care, but they are continually evolving to meet the unique and growing needs of their patients,” said Brian Nightengale, RPh, Ph.D., president of Good Neighbor Pharmacy and SVP, Community & Specialty Pharmacy.

“While independent community pharmacies face challenges in today’s market, they can enhance their business to better position themselves to withstand industry pressures, maximize pharmacy performance and, most importantly, improve patient care. Our finalists serve as shining examples of the countless independent pharmacies nationwide that continue to seize opportunities and further solidify their position as a preferred healthcare and retail destination.”

Since it opened in 1976, North Village Pharmacy has expanded its size and capabilities to meet the Caswell County community’s growing needs. As the only pharmacy in Caswell County, North Village Pharmacy serves as a go-to destination for patients who require healthcare services or advice.

Owned by Vernon Massengill, who also serves as a volunteer fire marshal for Caswell County, the pharmacy offers a variety of services, ranging from immunization and medication adherence packaging to medication therapy management.

North Village Pharmacy emerged from a field of nearly 60 nominees nationwide as one of the three finalists. The other two finalists are Shatto’s Frontier Drug in Douglas, Wyoming, and Belew Drug from Knoxville, Tennessee. Voting for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy of the Year Award runs through Sunday, July 15.

Votes can be cast by visiting GNPPharmacyoftheYear.com, or the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Facebook page - facebook.com/GoodNeighborPharmacy - where feature videos of the three finalists are posted.

“We are honored to be recognized as a finalist for the 2018 Good Neighbor Pharmacy of the Year Award,” said Mr. Massengill. “As our patients’ needs continue to evolve, we remain steadfast in our commitment to provide them with the personalized care they deserve.”
